Corporate Strategy

Corporate strategy may sound grand and ambitious, but at the end of the day, it simply means understanding where you are going, and what you are trying to do. The Knowledge Partnership works closely with institutions to help senior managers with key stages of organisational development – working on corporate strategies, differentiating academics products, defining the vision, or rebranding corporate identity.

Many organisations in the sectors in which we operate have to produce plans that are required by regulators – for "contract compliance". We understand that this is important as it allows you to have the licence to operate and to meet conditions of accountability.

However, as markets become more competitive and dynamic, all organisations in knowledge sectors need to develop more robust evidence-based organisational plans. These need to be disseminated internally and crucially the strategy needs to be explicitly linked with operation planning, resource allocation and structures.

How can we help? We can:
- Guide organisations that need to move from the compliance model to the market or business model of planning.
- Facilitate the development of strategic and market-related objectives, performance indicators, mission, vision and the articulation of values, etc, and in supporting what we call "Relative SWOT Analysis".
- Advise on the sort of data that needs to be brought to bear on the planning process, and then used to monitor progress. We can also support the initial collection and analysis of such data.
- Train staff so that you build internal capacity in strategic planning.
- Support the internal communication and dissemination of the strategy to staff, volunteers, students, parents, alumni and others who will support its implementation.
A corporate strategy process that is based on an analysis of your markets, including competitors, that has engaged staff and other internal stakeholders and has been effectively communicated has a much improved chance of supporting the achievement of goals and objectives.

Our credentials and experience allows us to offer comparative insights into a variety of different educational institutions across the UK and Australasia: Russell Group universities, modern universities, FE colleges, schools, charities, knowledge providers, training organisations, and government departments.
