Each year The Knowledge Partnership organises a Summer Social day for all of its staff - this year we went to the beautiful, historic city of York.
The morning began with a light brunch before taking a boat tour up the river. For lunch we headed to the stunning Grays Court, deemed the oldest inhabited house in York - a hotel and restaurant, which served us a lovely three course meal and a few glasses of fizz.
In the afternoon we split into four teams, competing against each other in a City Explorer challenge. The city streets were our playground - armed with our phones or tablets, we worked together to locate city based hotspots, answer questions and earn points. There were many giggles with us reenacting Viking scenes with sweeping brushes and traffic cones, pretending to be mannequins in Marks and Spencer, and flipping beer mats. The 'Edgy Not-Veggies' team triumphed, earning over 600 points, followed by 'Team Amy' with just over 500 points.
Following a swift pint, we were back to exploring the streets, this time with a Ghost Tour lead by 'Mad Alice'. An entertaining and informative tour, I'm not sure we'll ever see York in quite the same way again...!
Thanks for a great day everyone! Until next year...
