UK International Market Project

UK-based International Student Recruitment Market Report

The Knowledge Partnership is pleased to announce that the first comprehensive market report on international students who are in the UK when they apply for undergraduate study is now available for purchase.

This report is based on an independent research project undertaken between September 2011 and April 2012 designed to deliver invaluable insights about the international market in the UK. This included analysis of UCAS Applications data from 2008-2010, online surveys of universities, schools and international students and in-depth interviews with university colleagues active in the UK-International Market.

The UK represents the largest international student undergraduate market for UK universities. More than half of the 200,000 international undergraduate applications made to UK universities each year come from students who are already studying in the UK.

Our initial research suggests that applicants who are already in the UK when they apply are likely to be better adjusted to UK life and study, have a high standard of language proficiency and are more likely to convert from application to acceptance of an offer than undergraduate applicants who apply from outside the UK.
