Surveying the best universities in the world
In this key project, we have analysed the international communications and strategies for reputational advancement of the World Top 100 Universities (as measured by the Times Higher World Ranking and the Shanghai Jao Tong World Academic Ranking). The project is being supported by 4 of the UK’s top universities; Imperial College, University College London, Warwick University and King’s College London. A World Top 100 web review kick started the project, with The Knowledge Partnership looking at aspects of every Top 100 university website.
Research Outputs
The summary findings are available to all those who completed the questionnaire. A more detailed report is available for those wishing to subscribe as a full research consortia member – this will give you access to much more information, including further detailed qualitative evidence, and a website and communications analysis of the 100 world leading universities. We also hope to build on this research to develop a model of higher education reputation, so that universities can explore and benchmark their own work in an international context.

Creating a Global Network
One of the intended outcomes of this research is to create a network of those in charge of their university’s international reputation to facilitate the sharing of cross cultural best practice. We also propose an international communications and reputation management conference of World Top Universities in the next year. For further information, to register your interest in attending or in presenting a paper, see our Upcoming Conferences page.
