Woodland Conservation

The coldest day of the year so far saw The Knowledge Partnership wrap up warm, with a layer of high-vis vests and hard hats, leaving their desks for a local woodland area.
As part of our CSR programme, we spent the day thinning out woodland at Wigton Moor - a local woodland area which suffers from overgrowing. The result of which are trees growing upwards at the same time, competing for light and eventually falling over.
The work involved us working in pairs or threes to saw down select trees, and then clearing the space.
Friends of Wigton Moor Woods are a great group, which help the conservation of local green spaces. They were so informative, welcoming and passionate, and we'd love to volunteer again with them in the future!
